Healthy Nutrition Awareness
Saudi Society for Clinical Nutrition (SSCN) was approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialists in 2007, before that date, some clinical dietitians established the Clinical Nutrition Club under Medical college at KSU 30 years back. The main aim was to introduce the role of clinical Nutrition in disease management and prevention, and increase scientific knowledge and skills among health care professional as well as public awareness.
تمت الموافقة على الجمعية السعودية للتغذية السريرية من قبل الهيئة السعودية للتخصصات الصحية في عام 2007 ، وقبل ذلك التاريخ، أنشأ بعض أخصائيو التغذية السريرية نادي التغذية السريرية التابع لكلية الطب بجامعة الملك سعود منذ ما يقارب 30 عامًا. كان الهدف الرئيسي هو تعزيز دور التغذية السريرية في إدارة الأمراض والوقاية منها، وزيادة المعرفة العلمية والمهارات بين العاملين في مجال الرعاية الصحية وكذلك الوعي العام.
To be the main reference in clinical nutrition locally, regionally and in the Arab World.
1- Activating the role of clinical nutrition in the health care by supporting dietitians.
2- Developing the scientific and vocational performance of clinical nutrition practitioners in hospitals and healthy establishments.
3- Encouraging researches and scientific consultations which serve patients in hospitals.
4- Offering medical consultation to decision makers in hospitals and healthy establishments and this in the field of clinical nutrition.
5- Developing, unifying and spreading systems and regulations related to clinical nutrition in healthy establishment in a way that enhances the offered services.
6- Developing the policies and work procedures in clinical nutrition departments in hospitals and healthy establishments to unify the standard in offering services to patients who are benefiting from nutritious care.
6- Establishing a reference to authorize curriculums in institutes and colleges in the field of specialization in order that graduates can fulfill the admission conditions as the practitioners of clinical nutrition
7- Activating the role of clinical nutrition specialist as one of the medical staff in hospitals and healthy establishments.
8- Holding conferences and symposiums which are related to remedial nutrition.
9- Holding training courses and workshops in the field of remedial nutrition.
10- Participation the efforts of the governmental and private authorities in the protection from diseases related to nutrition.
11- Activating the enlightening role of clinical nutrition specialist in society.
12- Publishing the studies and scientific publications related to clinical nutrition.
13- Offering consultations when they are requested from academic or vocational authorities in the field of clinical nutrition.
